Visit her website | | | | Artist Biography Helen K. Beacham Although born in Montreal, Canada, Helen moved to Memphis, TN in 1981 and spent the next 26 years living & working there. In the summer of 2006, she and her husband moved to Summerville, SC (just outside Charleston), where she now maintains her Studio. Beacham joined the Courtyard Art Gallery in December 2007 as a part-owner and, although primarily a watercolorist, she also paints in acrylics on canvas and does mixed media collage. She teaches watercolor and drawing to teenagers and adults from her Studio in Summerville. Ms. Beacham is a Past President of the Memphis/Germantown Art League and is a current member of the Charleston Artist Guild (CAG), the Summerville Artist Guild and the Charleston Outdoor Painters Association. She can be seen about town, painting “en plein air”. One of her specialties is distinctive home portraits. She volunteers her time to CAG’s Outreach Programs, working with “Art of Alzheimer’s” and many other worthy causes. Participating in numerous art shows around the country, Ms. Beacham has been winning awards and enthralling art lovers for years. She says “I happen to love all things old, and that fact is definitely reflected in my art. I enjoy courtyards and fountains, moss on brick walkways and vines on trellises.
