Artist Biography
Beverly Mayfield Brunswig

Born in Clarksburg, West Virginia and encouraged by her family, the artist has been painting and drawing since she was very young.  Her first teenage employment was designing the artwork and laying out the lettering for tombstones in Ocala Florida.  She received her B.A. degree in fine art and art education from Florida Atlantic University and has taught in public and private schools in several states.

The artist renders house portraits, children and wildlife in watercolors, colored pencils and pen and ink.  She also does repousee’-engraving and embossing on copper sheeting.

In 2001, the discovery of a new, one of a kind medium has taken her love of detail to a new level.  “My true passion is paper sculpture in which the play of light and shadow has the ability to change the lines in my often monochromatic assemblages.  Although I am still excited when I see the finished face or house emerge on flat paper, I am absolutely enamored with the challenges of creating art that fluctuates somewhere between two and three dimensions.”
